The second version was dates back to somewhere between 1951 and 1958.
They are zamak razors and came in both Gold and Silver plating which was generally not great.
This particular one arived seized up and took some work to unjam it. (See below on how to avoid this happening to you)
To keep it working I ensure that it is properly cleaned before storing. I'm not sure if it helps but I also drop some mineral oil into the mechanism.
It was also sold as a Ben Hur.
How does it shave? Short answer is - It's an excellent shaver |

Does the Apollo Mikron 2 that I want to buy Actually Adjust?
Ok so you've seen a Mikron 2 for sale somewhere. You have also heard that the plating wasn't great and there is a very real possibility that it has seized up. How do you tell from the images? The image below will hopefully show you what you should be looking out for.
The top of the image shows them fully closed and the bottom shows them fully open. If you look at the area at where the arrows are pointing to, you will see that as the adjuster plate moves up and down there is a small area exposed when its open and none when its closed. (Clicking on the image opens it in a new tab)
It's far easier to ask for more images than to reverse a transaction.
