Ming Shi 2000S

This is a Ming Shi 2000s and is an entry level adjustable.

It's roots are obviously Merkur Futur with a few changes. It's a Two-Piece with a top cap that clips on. The handle has been redesigned however the adjustment mechanism is the same as a Futur. The packaging is simple and there are no blades supplied with it.

The changes - Cosmetically it's a little more stylish. The base plate and handle have been redesigned.
The biggest change is that they have what they have called a "lubricating strip" which is a rubber moulding that extends to and over the blade bar that can be seen in the second row of images below.

Other names that I've seen: Qshave

How does it shave?
It's very similar to a Futur Clone, so from mildish to aggressive. The handle is too long for my personal preferences, but is comfortable enough to hold.
The big question is what purpose the rubber serves. Without lather it does not lubricate and is pretty slick when there is lather but has some resistance or drag when there is not.
I mostly use short strokes when I shave and I could feel the resistance. I switched to long strokes and it was much better - so in future I will be using it this way.
