Brillant de Luxe (Gen 2)

These were made from the 60's to the early 80's. They were VEB Feintechnik's one piece TTO razors. The topcap and adjusting plate are chrome plated (I have no idea whats under the chrome). The adjustment/tto knob is the same one as the Gen-1 and is made of aluminium. The rest of the razor is plastic. Its has the same sort of lather channels that the Erfa/Progress has but also has lather holes in the bottom.
The handle is great. It has ridges moulded into it and is extremely non-slip without been aggressive. I'm speculating here, saying that this would have been the first of the Gen-2's. They moulded the handle of the Gen 2 but still had some Gen-1 parts left over and used them up.
The TTO knob has a dial numbered 0 to 3 and really just opens and closes the doors. The middle plate is spring loaded so it keeps the blade under tension against the doors - Its a simple yet effective solution.

The case has "BRILLANT deLuxe" in gold lettering.

They must have also manufactured blades in the same factory or one close by because the tuck of blades that came with the Gen-2 version has EISFELD printed on box.
