The official name for this was the Gillette Aristocrat Adjustable Razor. It is the indentical razor to the Nickel plated "Standard" Slim except that it was plated in 22 Carat Gold. It sold for $5.00 versus the $1.50/$1.79 of the standard version.

Gillette produced it for 6 years, from the 3rd Quarter of 1961 until the 3rd Quarter of 1967 and like the Standard version there were a few minor changes through this period.

How does it shave?
First use with it and a new Spoiler Blade and I expected a better shave. On it's most open, I find it still mildish. I think that it's milder then a Standard Slim.
I think that a comparison between this and the Standard version might be on the cards......
