Le Coq Palmer (Brass Version)
This is the less common and slightly more sought after brass version. It is a No 105 or "Luxe" version as it has a case and initially came with 5 blades. (The No 115 or "Propagande" version is the same razor but came in a cardboard box and had no blades.)
I'm just guessing here and think that it would have been the earlier version because it would be more expensive to produce.
There are a couple of things to look for:
There are no horizontal grooves on the handle.
The text on the underside is pushed in.
The adjustability is the same on all the versions - it has the strong centre spring that pushes the blade against the topcap.
There are alignment grooves on the topcap and base plate.
They also don't have lather grooves so need more rinsing than other razors.

How does it shave?
I find them very mild shavers and as a result open them up pretty wide. Once they are opened beyond a full turn, they become pretty effecient shavers.
