This is a Gnat. It was designed to be a compact razor, however an unintended consequence of the design is that it's a Tilting razor as well.
It's a copy of a Gillette Old type head with a short handle. The handle pivots and folds down close to the underside of the base plate, and resluts in a very compact "package".
The underside of the topcap is stamped with "GNAT PATENT" on one side and "BRITISH MADE" on the other. It appears to be silver plated over brass.

The patent was granted on August, 05 1920 to a Tom Percy Bentley under patent number GB148581.

How does it shave?
It shaves pretty much like an Gillette Old Type which are awesome shavers.
My preference is for shorter handles, but this one is a little too short for me.
