"When is an Eclipse Red Ring not a Red Ring...."
Frankly, I don't know if this was an official difference or a mistake but since finding this one, I have seen one other.
There is no logo on the top cap. It means that it's at least a Gen 4, however there is a difference. It has Eclipse engraved on the one side of the handle but no "Red Ring" engraved on the opposite side (see the first two pictures in the second row below).
The ring itself is clear of any paint or paint residue so I guess that it was never painted. The rest of it is a 4^th Generation.

At the time of buying it, this was the only one that I had seen in this configuration. I've since seen another on auction and been contacted by a collector that also has one - So you tell me Gen 5 or a "Quality Control" error.

How does it shave?
First shave with it and.....
I initially thought that it felt milder than the Gen 3, but I was mistaken. They are pretty much the same shavers all across all the generations/variants.
