Rex Ambassador
This is Razor Emphorium's homage of the Gibbs 13/15 Adjustable. Matt, the owner of Razor Emphorium announced the Rex Ambassador on various forums on 25th April 2017 with shipping expected to start a few months later in August. After a slight delay, shipping started around 22nd September with the first reviews starting a few days later.

There were a couple of "firsts" with it. It was the first Gibbs homage made in Stainless Steel and also the first adjustable razor made in the USA since 1988 when the Gillette Black Beauty was discontinued.
The build quality is awesome and should easily last your lifetime. Its handle is longer than a Gibbs and has a "bulb" for the twist knob, thus lowering the balance point and is in my opinion better balanced. The knurling is amongst the best knurling out there.

M Date Code
This has a M3 serial number - so 3rd Quarter of 2017.
It was the part of the first batch to be manufactured and is number 9. The easiest way to tell one of these is that lather holes are squared off - just like a Gibbs! They left them rounded from the next version.

How does it shave?
It is the one that is closest to the Gibbs.

N Date Code
This has a N3 serial number - so 3rd Quarter of 2018.
It was the first Ambassador that I bought and was amongst the first razors that I bought.

How does it shave?
I find it pretty draggy although soap choice does help with this. I read online that the drag in the later versions was pretty much removed, so I bought a later version.......
R Date Code
This has a R4 serial number - so 4th Quarter of 2022.
As stated above, I read that the drag in the newer ambassadors was pretty much non-existant. When I received my Konsul, I found that it was indeed the case with the Konsul. I decided to get myself the later version and found someone selling his "recently bought" version on a forum.

How does it shave?
When compared to the "N" version, the drag has been significantly reduced, however there is still some there. Again soap choices help.
