Personna Precision Gold - Posts in Top Cap
The "common" Personna Precision Micrometric (if it could be called common) has the blade posts on the middle plate. A few years back when researching the Personna, I came across an image that showed one with the posts in the Top Cap. I have been on the lookout for one ever since then. This is the first one that I've seen come up for sale or auction. It came up on Ebay, so I bought it and coincidentally within a week a second one appeared! Since then, I've been contacted by another two people that have a Gen-1.
It is Personna's version of the Gibbs, and although they say "Made in Britian" on them it is rumoured that Gibbs were the actual manufacturer.
As can be seen below, the blade posts are in the top cap negating the need for proprietary blades.
I've seen adverts dated Christmas 1949 that shows this version of the case with 50 Personna Blades for 32/6. The blades were 5 for 1/3 or 10 for 2/6.
Adverts showing the other case are dated in the 1950's. This leads me to believe that this was the first version.
They are Gold Plated.
There are a few differences between the two generations which I list HERE
Click HERE for the later Gold version and HERE for the Chromed version.

How does it shave?
As expected, there is some drag but it's still an excellent shaver.
I think that there is slightly more drag then the 2ndGen, but on the other side of the coin, its slightly more effecient.
Me thinks that it's "shave-off" time!

New Brass Handle
Like the Chrome Version this also arrived with a very small crack in the handle and I also want to preserve the original handle as best as I can. Come one rainy Sunday I made the brass handle. This one didn't need the twist-knob. Cerakoting will be done in due course, but in the meantime I can use it without worrying about the original handle cracking further.
